The Rt. Hon. Lord Mance
Lord Mance was called to the Bar of England and Wales (Middle Temple) in 1965 and was appointed a Queen’s Counsel in 1982. He became a Recorder in 1990 and was appointed as a High Court Judge in the High Court of England and Wales in 1993, serving in the Queen’s Bench Division. In 1993 he was appointed a Lord Justice of Appeal in the Court of Appeal of England and Wales. In 2005 he was appointed a Lord of Appeal in Ordinary in the House of Lords. In 2009 he and nine other Lords of Appeal became Justices of the UK Supreme Court upon that court’s inauguration. He was appointed Deputy President of the UK Supreme Court in 2017. He retired from the UK Supreme Court in 2018.
He has many years of experience in commercial law and international trade, in public and private international law and in European law. He served as Chair of various Banking Appeals Tribunals (1992-1993), Chair of the Consultative Council of European Judges (2000-2003), President of the British Insurance Law Association (2000-2002), and trustee of the European Law Academy (2003). From 2012 to 2018 he was appointed High Steward of Oxford University, where he read Jurisprudence, holds an honorary doctorate of Civil Law and is an Honorary Fellow of University College and Wolfson College.

Ms. Barbara Dohmann KC
Ms. Dohmann KC has been one of the UK’s leading commercial barristers and an international arbitrator for many years.
She began practice at the Bar of England and Wales in 1973 and was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1987. She has over thirty years’ experience in international arbitration and has been appointed as arbitrator at ICSID, at the LCIA, at the London Metal Exchange (where she is an Arbitration and Arbitration Appeals Panel member), at the Paris International Chamber of Commerce, and at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre. She is a CEDR accredited Mediator.
Her arbitration experience includes international joint ventures, metal trading, oil and gas trading, North Sea oil drilling contracts, the true construction of bare boat charters, alleged breaches of charter parties, property, intellectual property, construction, trusts, commodity trading, family foundations, shareholder disputes, company mergers and acquisitions, international sporting events, media and entertainment, and many insurance and reinsurance disputes.
She has extensive experience of appearing before foreign courts in very large commercial disputes, including in Bermuda, Gibraltar, Singapore, Brunei, Grand Cayman, the Bahamas and The British Virgin Islands. She is a member of The British Virgin Islands Bar.
She has given expert evidence on English law to courts in the USA, Ireland, France, Germany, Austria and Dubai.
She was a Recorder from 1987 to 2001, a Deputy High Court Judge from 1994 to 2002, and a Judge at the Qatar Financial Centre International Court from 2007 to 2017.
She was Chairman of the Commercial Bar Association from 1999 to 2001 and Leader of the European Circuit from 2014 to 2016. She is a member of the Special Committee of the London Metal Exchange, of the Lord Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on Private International Law, of the Learned Society for International Procedure Law and of the Deutscher Anwaltsverein.
She was educated at schools in Germany and in the USA and at the Universities of Mainz and of Paris (Sorbonne), and at the Inns of Court School of Law in London. Her languages are English, German, French and Spanish.
