Professor Ilia Rachkov is a member of the IAC Panel of Arbitrators and Mediators. He is a Partner at the law firm Nektorov, Savaliev & Partners, in Moscow, Russia. He is a Professor of International Economic Law at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
He specialises in dispute resolution, arbitration and international trade law. He has considerable experience of international and domestic arbitration proceedings and he advises leading commercial parties and state bodies in Russia and internationally. He was listed in The Best Lawyers (Russia) rating in the fields of Litigation (2021, 2020) and Mergers and Acquisitions Law (2021).
He has a BA from MGIMO, and law qualifications and further studies from the Moscow State Lomonosov University, the French University College (Collège Français Universitaire), the universities of Regensburg and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (Germany), Nijmegen and The Hague Academy of International Law (The Netherlands), and The International Faculty of Comparative Law (Graz/Austria and Strasbourg/France). He has post-doctoral qualifications from the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He speaks five languages fluently: Russian, English, German, French and Polish.
