Professor Christopher Bisping is Dean of the Master of Law and Business programme. He gathered first experiences of the common law tradition when studying for a Masters in Law at the University of Edinburgh. He was a researcher at the Max-Planck-Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg between 2001–2003, where he represented the common law systems in the working group on credit securities, led by Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Ulrich Drobnig, as part of the Study Group on a European Civil Code.

Between 2003–2021 he taught and researched in England, first as DAAD-Lecturer for German Law at the University of Warwick, from 2008–2012 as Lecturer in Law at the University of Leicester and from 2012–2021 as Assistant and later Associate Professor at the University of Warwick. There, he was Director of the Law and Business Studies Programme, Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Law School and Academic Director Postgraduate Taught for the entire University. He has taught widely in England (Aston University), Germany (Universities of Bonn and Constance) and Malaysia (Monash Malaysia) and has acted as external examiner at several British universities (King‘s College London, City University London, University of Glasgow) and in Spain (Universidad de Navarra).
